Apple iPhone 6 Could Cost $649
Business Insider reports that Apple is trying to negotiate with US carriers for a $100 price increase on the iPhone 6. If carriers submit to Apple's will, which they thankfully haven't as of yet (at least, that is what the report says), the new iPhone 6 could cost $299 with a two-year contract, or $749 unlocked. Both prices are a full $100 higher than the pricing of the current iPhones. It looks like Apple is using "bigger screen size" as a feature to push for higher prices since the same report mentions that the iPhone phablet (5.5-inch) could come with an even higher price tag.
"Our checks indicate Apple has started negotiating with carriers on a $100 iPhone 6 price increase. The initial response has been no, but there seems to be an admission that there is no other game-changing device this year." - Peter Misek, Analyst at Jefferies
Oh well, it's not like iPhone sales will be hurt by such a price increase. Or will it? Only time will tell.
